& Training

Are you facing an important negotiation?

You know the value of what you have to offer. So you want the best possible result. For yourself- and for the other side.

To negotiate well is challenging. Research tells us that most people are not very good at it. Especially when the transaction is complex, risky, unique, emotional, or cross-cultural. Why?

Our success depends on mastering the behavioral rules of negotiation. But it is often tempting to focus only on the financial, technical or legal aspects of the transaction. This may seem clearer and simpler. But it will lead to sub-optimal results.

In order to do well we have to acknowledge the paradox of negotiation. We have to both create value together with the other side- and we have to appropriate value at their expense. Good negotiators know how to reconcile these opposites. They have learned to chose and apply the best tactics for the situation. It is not an easy task.

I can offer research-based yet practical help. As a negotiator, I have structured and negotiated terms and conditions in over 15 countries, contributing to the successful conclusion of transactions worth more than € 500m. As a teacher, I have taught hundreds of executives and graduate students in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.

Benefit from my experience. Whether you seek negotiation advice, mediation, or negotiation training, I will tailor my services to your needs. To help you get the negotiation results you want.

There is nothing so practical as a good theory.
